Return Policy
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase from HM Chairs. Please review our policy below to understand your options and responsibilities regarding returns and refunds.
1. Eligibility for Returns
Returns are accepted within 14 calendar days of you receiving your item.
To be eligible for a return, the item must be unused, in its original packaging, and in a resalable condition.
For new chairs: Returns are not accepted if the chair has been assembled. Assembled chairs are not eligible for return or refund, except in cases of manufacturer defects or damage incurred during shipping.
International Orders (outside the UK): Are not eligible for returns unless the item is damaged, defective, or incorrect due to our error upon arrival.
2. Reasons for Return & Associated Fees
A) Change of Mind or Personal Preference: If you have a change of mind after receiving your shipment, the following conditions apply:
You are responsible for both the original outbound shipping cost (to you) and the return shipping cost (back to us).
A restocking fee will be applied to cover the handling and processing of the returned goods.
These costs will be deducted from your refund.
B) Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Item (Our Error):
Please contact us immediately. We will cover all return shipping costs (UK only) and will not charge a restocking fee.
We will arrange a free collection or provide a pre-paid return label and process a full refund upon receipt and inspection.
C) Failed Delivery (Unsuccessful Delivery Attempts):
If the customer is unreachable, unable, or unwilling to take delivery, the item will be returned to our warehouse.
In this case, all shipping charges (both ways) and the restocking fee will be deducted from any potential refund.
3. Return Process
Contact Us: To initiate a return, please contact our customer service team at info@hmchairs.co.uk with your order number and detailed reason for the return.
We do not accept cancellations after goods have been dispatched from our warehouse.
Approval & Instructions: Once your return request is approved, we will provide you with a Returns Authorisation number and clear instructions for shipping the item back to our warehouse.
Packaging: It is your obligation to ensure the goods are repackaged securely in the original packaging to prevent any damage during transit. We are not responsible for items damaged in return transit due to inadequate packaging.
4. Refunds
After we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of the status of your refund.
Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 5–7 business days.
Please note: the refund amount will be for the value of the product(s) only. For returns due to change of mind, the original shipping cost and return shipping cost, plus the restocking fee, are non-refundable.
Having free shipping does not mean we do not incur costs. The items we sell are large and expensive to ship. Therefore, in the case of returns for change of mind, we must charge for both legs of the journey to cover these incurred expenses.
